HPE and Cohesity strengthen cyber-resilience partnership

HPE and Cohesity are partnering more deeply for cyber-resilience, with both reselling each other’s data protection software products. Additionally, Cohesity is integrating with HPE’s cloud management software, and HPE is bringing NetBackup closer to its Alletra and StoreOnce storage systems.

The two companies have a seven-year partnership and both appear to recognize the enterprise appeal of the other’s offerings. HPE recently won a significant federal hybrid cloud modernization initiative with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for a secure, sovereign cloud architecture, leveraging GreenLake with Cohesity to provide data protection and cyber resilience capabilities across the platform.

Sanjay Poonen, Cohesity's CEO and President, said: “This collaboration puts HPE and Cohesity in pole position to bring even more powerful and integrated cyber-resilient solutions to our customers. Enterprises everywhere want to confidently and quickly protect and recover their most critical data, and that’s precisely what we’re going to enable by pairing HPE’s trusted hybrid cloud infrastructure with Cohesity’s AI-powered data security platform.”

HPE's Fidelma Russo, EVP and GM, Hybrid Cloud, and CTO, said: “Together, Cohesity and HPE are helping organisations modernise data protection while improving resilience and operational efficiency across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. This collaboration supports a simplified hybrid cloud operating model that secures and manages data wherever it lives, with greater performance and flexibility.”

The details are:

  • Cohesity will begin reselling HPE Zerto, offering customers continuous data protection (CDP) and near-instant recovery for virtualised and cloud workloads.
  • HPE will resell Cohesity's NetBackup as well as DataProtect with purpose-built HPE storage and computer servers. HPE will also resell NetBackup optimised for Alletra Storage MP X10000 and HPE StoreOnce systems.
  • Cohesity will deepen integration and enhance support for HPE Morpheus VM Essentials and HPE Morpheus Enterprise Software, which are private cloud management offerings, with availability planned for mid-2026.

Cohesity recently named HPE as its FY25 Europe OEM Partner of the Year, thanks to 177 percent year-over-year growth in software sales and major joint customer wins across leading European institutions.

AWS and Cohesity

Cohesity has also has achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Resilience Competency, with demonstrated technical expertise and proven customer success. It enables customers to procure its validated resilience solutions through AWS Marketplace with support for multi-currency transactions across regions.

The company says that, through AWS Marketplace, it allows organizations to integrate cyber resilience into their cloud operating model. Customers can streamline vendor management, accelerate deployment, and align spend with existing AWS commitments. They can scale resilience capabilities alongside cloud adoption while maintaining consistent security and recovery controls across AWS services and regions.

HPE’s resale of NetBackup, and Cohesity’s resale of Zerto, are now available through authorised HPE and Cohesity partners.
