Denodo just released a new independent AI Trust Gap Report, based on a global survey of 850 executives, which explores why organizations are investing heavily in AI, but many still can’t fully trust the data behind it. 63% say they can’t find the data they need, and 67% struggle to keep it secure and consistent across systems. What’s becoming clear, Denodo says, is that the biggest barrier to scaling AI isn’t the model, it’s the data behind it.

A data report from DoubleTrack, a data infrastructure consultancy, says dirty data costs the US economy about $617 billion annually, and is projected to cost about $3.5 trillion by 2036. The study attributed the rise of AI, paired with a lack of information architecture, to this growth. DoubleTrack analyzed Gartner’s baseline cost of dirty data for enterprise companies and utilized the US Census Bureau business data to understand the overall cost by employee, industry, state, and county.

EDB says that, by 2027, half of enterprises will be using AI agents to redefine how humans and machines collaborate. By 2030, more than 1 billion agents will be actively deployed and will execute roughly 217 billion actions a day. These agents will consume trillions of tokens daily, and electricity demand from data centers worldwide will more than double by 2030 to around 945 terawatt-hours (TWh), with AI being the most significant driver of that increase.
New benchmarks show EDB Postgres AI can deliver 5x–12x faster vector indexing and up to 57 percent lower token usage, as the company proves that the most effective path to AI efficiency runs through the data layer, not the GPU. EDB announced a suite of validated performance efficiencies within EDB Postgres AI (EDB PG AI), designed to drastically reduce datacenter power consumption, lower token usage, and deliver an unprecedented "intelligence per watt" standard for the enterprise.

Moments Lab has launched an initiative with AWS to chop indexing costs down by as much as 98 percent (plus 75 percent faster turnaround). Moments Lab said it had delivered a 4x reduction in the cost of indexing. The cost of indexing digital files is what keeps many large media companies from driving revenue with archived content. This initiative is aimed at large Media and Entertainment (M&E) companies, who are looking to accelerate the migration of hundreds of thousands of hours of video content to the AWS environment, where it can then be indexed and searched with Moments Lab’s MXT multimodal AI, ostensibly removing the friction point to launching video indexing projects at scale.
